Company Background
Integrated Optical Circuit Consultants (IOCC) was founded in 1988
by Dr. R. A. Becker with the following mission:
-
Develop applications for integrated and guided-wave
optical devices
-
Participate in the research and engineering development
necessary for successful applications.
Since that time IOCC has provided services to National Labs, Start-Up
Companies, Fortune 500 Companies, Universities, and several branches of
the United States Government. IOCC has done business with the fiberoptic
community in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, and Japan.
Prior to founding IOCC, Dr. Becker was the Manager of Integrated
Optic Components at Crystal Technology in Palo Alto, CA. Prior to
that he was a Member of the Technical Staff at MIT's Lincoln Laboratory
in Lexington, Massachusetts. Throughout his career, which spans over
20 years, he has participated in both R&D and commercial aspects of
integrated and guided-wave device technology.
Capabilities and Resources include:
-
Software for the design and simulation of a variety
of integrated optic devices based on LiNbO3, semiconductors,
and polymers. This includes both device and system simulation capability
-
Prototyping laboratory with equipment for packaging,
pigtailing, evaluation, and environmental testing
-
Technology for doing "polished-quality" cuts on
LiNbO3 and optical fiber
-
RF optical evaluation through 26 GHz
-
Fiber attachment for both transmissive devices
(modulators, switches, etc.) and laser diodes
-
Aptitude for taking customer-requested "crazy"
ideas and realizing them in practice
